Inca Jungle Adventures to Machu Picchu 7D/6N

Inca Jungle Adventures To Machu Picchu. Description:

The best combination of tourism: City Tour, Sacred Valley, Rainbow Mountain, Inca Jungle Trail

Cusco the “Archaeological capital of the Americas” seen as the oldest continuously inhabited city is a beautiful city riddled with contrasts between the indigenous styles and the modern western world. All these contrasts have given Cusco its rare beauty.

The area of the valley between Pisac and Ollantaytambo is known as the Sacred Valley of the Incas. On this tour we will drive through the mountains to the "Sacred Valley of the Incas" - which held great significance in Inca Culture. The Valley has a milder climate than Cusco and we will see a succession of picturesque villages, agricultural terraces, and many archaeological sites.

This tour is the "Traditional" or Classic tour, that is designed to see all of the Sacred Valley in one, action packed, whirlwind day! If you have more time, we recommend an overnight stay in the Sacred Valley (we recommend either Ollantaytambo or Urubamba) and being able to soak up some of the relaxed atmosphere.

The Rainbow Mountain of Peru, also known as Vinicunca, are stunning and can be seen on the spectacular Ausangate Trek. Ausangate mountain itself is considered a holy mountain (or mountain spirit) by local Peruvians and is the deity of Cusco. Since pre-Inca times the mountain has been a place of worship and offerings and this tradition continues today.

Enjoy an adventure-filled journey to Machu Picchu, biking, rafting, hiking and ziplining along the way, during this 4-day, 3-night trek. This action-packed trip is a twist on the traditional hiking paths to Machu Picchu, allowing you to enjoy a variety of fun outdoor activities. Do some whitewater rafting on Class III and IV rapids, zoom down a mountain trail by bike and fly through the sky on a zipline ride. You’ll also travel past amazing Inca ruins and admire incredible scenery, ranging from alpine peaks to lush jungle.

OUR GUIDES:

Most of our guides began as porters before they went to Cusco University and Institute where they learned about the Inca history. They are always training in order to be the best guide. They each speak English beautifully and of course all of them speak Spanish and Quechua, the Inca Language. They are all able to communicate with natives from around the area and of course he will have lots of history to share with you.

OUR FOOD:

Definitely one of the highlights of the tour is the food. It is always fresh and most of it is organic. There is always a lot to eat and lots of options including vegetables, meat, chicken, fish and other types of protein and carbohydrates. Everyone sits down to eat together and we go out of our way to accomodate all dietary requirements including vegetarian options and any food allergies. We do not provide any alcoholic drinks on the trek but if you would like you can bring your own.

WE ARE RESPONSIBLE:

We try to treat our hikers, our porters and all the local people from the villages with the upmost respect. We travel in small groups to give personalized tours to each traveller, we pay good salaries to our porters and follow the porters law. We provide all our porters with their hiking gear such as shoes, pants, jackets, t-shirts, hats, sleeping bags and most importantly, with health insurance.

FITNESS:

The Inca Jungle Trail is certainly not easy but you do not need to be an athlete or a trekking expert to complete it. Fitness is naturally important but the Inca Trail is the kind of trek that anyone with a positive attitude and determination can do. Obviously the more fit you are the more you will enjoy the trail and the more chance you will have to take in the scenery and appreciate the Inca ruins dotted along the way. If you do not exercise regularly, it is advisable to do some extra walking or some kind of aerobic activity in the months leading up to your trip. Many people worry whether they will be able to cope physically but complete failure is rare and would usually only result from severe altitude sickness or a person lacking even a basic level of fitness. People of all ages (from teenagers to pensioners) complete the trek and age itself is no barrier if you are positive minded and live an active lifestyle. Before departing for your tour, we recommend visiting your doctor who will be able to provide you with more information.

BOOKING:

Inca Jungle Tour is available to depart any day of the week as long as we have two people. You still need to book in advance.

We've had a great trek with a small group. There were only 4 of us. On the way we saw groups with over 15 persons...not what I would have wanted. They don't put people from different agencies together.
